Dragonfly and Fireflies Kimono
Stitch of the Month

Continuing Program: Pat Giarraffa continues to lead the Stitch of the Month program, Dragonfly and Fireflies Kimono, designed by Sharon G.

Sandbox Project: Beginning of a New Continuing Program

Sandbox is a chapter project which will be team-taught by members of the Programming Committee. Sandbox is a counted piece designed to fit in a Sudberry box. It features a center scallop shell that is stitched using the ribbed web stitch.

The shell is also stuffed during stitching for better shaping. Other stitches used in the piece include oblong cross, Smyrna cross, cashmere, knotted cross, Milanese, and various Rhodes variations.
The design instructions will be distributed at this meeting and will include starting the design and choosing colors. Members should choose a canvas color and threads before the January 2010 meeting.
